Precautions for the use of magnets on injection molded parts

Jan 03, 2021

In many cases, customers will need to use magnets and plastic parts to be injection molded together, which we call magnetic components. There are usually two types, namely neodymium iron boron magnetic components and ferrite magnetic components. Ferrite is not much to say, because its temperature resistance is good, and there is basically no problem, mainly neodymium iron boron magnetic components, strong magnets What details do we need to pay attention to when using injection molded parts?

We all know about injection molding that it needs to be formed at high temperature, and only after high temperature molding will the injection molded part come out. In this case, if the magnet is placed on the injection molded part and molded together, the magnet is prone to demagnetization or even no magnetization.

How can magnet manufacturers solve the problem of magnet injection molding without demagnetization?

1. Use high temperature resistant magnetic materials to replace ordinary magnetic materials, but the cost will increase. Customers need to consider one is magnetic force and the other is temperature resistance.

2. The plastic mold keeps the place where the magnet is placed, and then presses it in with a tool later. The tolerance of the subsequent magnet should be adjusted to the correct tolerance to avoid the magnet from being loose and falling out.

The above are the two points of attention regarding the use of powerful magnets on injection molded parts. These two methods are used to avoid magnet demagnetization when the magnet is used in injection molded parts.
