Do simple and meaningful things with NdFeB magnets
NdFeB magnets are usually called neodymium magnets or rare earth magnets. They are very powerful. Their magnetic force is 10 times that of ferrite magnets and 20000 times that of the earth's magnetic field. These magnets are fragile and strong and can easily break. If you are careful when handling them, they can be used for many useful and creative purposes.
Stealth tool rack
Put a neodymium magnet with a diameter of 1/2 inch in your pocket. It can be used as a tool holder. Any tool with a metal handle or metal shaft will be fixed on your pants through a magnet. If you don't want to take the risk of tearing your pants, please stick a button-sized magnet into your belt and make a magnetic tool belt. You can also make a magnetic tool rack for your studio by drilling a magnetic hole on the back of a piece of wood, inserting a magnet in the hole, and then hanging the wood on the wall to hide the magnet. Even if you can't see them, they still strongly attract metal.
Magnetic sculpture
If you have a series of neodymium magnets, use your creativity to build a dreamlike structure, which seems to be able to resist gravity. For example, build a vertical wooden frame, embed a magnet in the horizontal bar at the top, and then attach another magnet to the rope at the bottom. The magnet on the rope will be attracted by the magnet on the top, which looks like hanging in the air. Use magnets of different sizes and shapes to approach your inner artist.
Test Lenz's law
Slide the neodymium magnet along a non-magnetic conductive surface (such as copper), and you will notice that the magnet will resist movement, even if it is not attracted by the metal. This is because the moving magnetic field generates an electric field in the conductive material, which is opposite to the magnetic field. This effect is called Lenz's law.
Reject grapes
Place two grapes at the end of the straw and fix the straw on the plastic bottle cap with a pin. Move the neodymium magnet to the grape and it will stay away from the magnet. Then turn the magnet over. Although you think the grape will be attracted, it will be rejected. This is because the water in grapes is bimagnetic and is repelled by the poles of the magnet.
Manufacture of magneto
Put an old CD on the rotating shaft so that it can rotate freely, and then paste a small neodymium magnet on it so that the magnetic pole is at the edge and outward. Move another neodymium magnet close enough to make the magnets repel each other, and the CD will rotate. If you can find a way to synchronize the motion of the free magnet and keep the CD rotating, you can completely change the energy industry.
