What is a magnet? Three characteristics of magnets?
1. What is a magnet?
A magnet is a material or artificial device that can generate a magnetic field around it. Because of the magnetic field, magnets can attract ferromagnetic materials (such as iron filings) and attract or repel any other magnets. Magnets suspended by ropes always point north and south. A magnet always has a pair of poles that cannot be separated. These are often referred to as "North Pole" and "South Pole". Just like the two poles repel each other, while the opposite poles attract each other. Some materials naturally behave like magnets, but artificial magnets can also be made
2。 What is magnetism?
Magnetism refers to the force field with extremely strong magnetism (or ferromagnetism). Iron, nickel and cobalt, such as many rare metal alloys and current permanent magnets, belong to this category. Although magnetism (and ferromagnetic materials) is the only thing that can attract something strong enough and is called magnetism, all different parts have weak responses to the force field as one of several different magnetic fields.
3. Three main characteristics of magnet
It has the following unique and interesting characteristics,
Magnet attraction: Magnets attract ferromagnetic materials such as iron, nickel and cobalt.
Magnet directivity: If the magnet is suspended on a rigid support so that it can rotate freely, the magnet will always point north and south.
Two poles of a magnet: A magnet has two poles with the strongest magnetic field. The magnetic poles exist in pairs. No matter how small the magnet is, it is impossible to separate one pole.
Just like the two poles are always mutually exclusive, but opposite poles attract.
The magnetic force (attraction or repulsion) between two objects is inversely proportional to the distance between them. When the object is close, the suction is stronger.
